An award that recognises an individual or team that has worked within their community to deliver a range of innovative services or expertise to improve the health and wellbeing of Maori. The services may have been co-developed with Maori communities, may be designed to address a particular health need of Maori communities, or may have been endorsed by Maori.
2017The team at Pharmacy 547 and Huntly West Pharmacy Sam Martin, Joyce Maipi and Ian McMicheal worked closely with the general practice team at Waahi Medical Centre to provide truly integrative care for people in Huntly West.
2016New to 2016 the award was won by Leanne Te Karu and Nga Kaitiaki o Te Puna Rongoa o Aotearoa (The Maori Pharmacists' Association) for a project that tackled the issue of gout for Maori patients. It is based on a model of healthcare provision focussed on equity that benefits the whole community.
